AP means ‘Advanced Placement’. AP classes are national standardized tests administered by the College Board. The College Board administers AP exams in May each year. There are 38 AP courses to choose from. AP courses offer students the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of content and college readiness. Based on student performance, some colleges may offer course credit or advancement.
