Hi. My name is Abisha. I completed my Bachelors of Education degree at Brock University. I have a background in Child and Youth Care and am certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. I obtained my Bachelors of Arts degree at Ryerson University majoring in Child and Youth Care and minoring in Psychology.

Every child has the ability to succeed. I thoroughly enjoy working one-on-one with students to help them achieve their full potential. My educational approach is to identify each student’s learning style and then work to accommodate the students’ areas of strengths and needs through a program catered to each individual student. I believe that teaching requires collaboration between educators and students. For students to become both motivated and inspired to learn, I believe they should always be given the time to explore, be creative, ask questions, and become critical thinkers.

During my teen years, I spent many hours of my time volunteering at multiple elementary schools and at a hospital in the Pediatric ward. Alan is a retired elementary teacher with 26 years of classroom teaching experience. Alan attained his BA with a Fine Art Major in 1987 from the University of Guelph and in 1990 received his B Ed from the University of Toronto. He is a father of three grown children and lives with his wife of 33 years in Mississauga. He is able to teach all subjects in the Ontario curriculum and has a wide range of knowledge and instructional strategies that he has developed over the years. He is able to utilize on line platforms for distance learning. His hobbies include golf, crossword puzzles, playing the piano and cooking.

Alicia is an Ontario Certified Teacher with a Bachelors of Education from Queen’s University. Additionally, she has an Undergraduate Degree in Environmental Studies and a Master’s Degree in Environment and Sustainability. Alicia has a deep love of travel having grown up exploring countries such as Australia, India and Japan, and loves immersing herself in new cultures. One of her favourite experiences was dressing up as a Super Mario character and driving through the streets of Tokyo in a go kart. In early 2020 Alicia moved to New Zealand to teach in the Primary/Junior grade levels where she immediately fell in love with the country’s breathtaking scenery and vibrant Māori culture. Over the years, Alicia has had the pleasure of working with students of all ages and abilities who have diverse cultural, social, linguistic, and academic backgrounds. Alicia values each child’s unique learning style and is dedicated to guiding all students toward ongoing success. I am a Primary Junior/Intermediate qualified teacher working with Peel District School Board. Amber is a passionate programmer with an academic background in computer science. She loves programming teaching others about computer science. Amrit is a behavior therapist and tutor who graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Arts, major in Criminology and minor in Counselling. She grew up in Surrey British Columbia and is fluent in 3 languages. Back in BC, Amrit had been tutoring kids for over 12 years in all subjects for grades K-12. Over the past two and a half years, she has also acquired experience working with kids ages 2-10 with ASD as well as ADHD. It was through her work as a behavior therapist in both centers and homes that Amrit discovered her passion for teaching and working with children. As the lead behavior therapist on all her teams, she got the opportunity to not only implement behavior plans but because she often worked the most one-on-one with the child, she was also often given the opportunity to come up with her own programs to implement to help the child to farther succeed as well as work alongside a BCBA to come up with entirely new plans. Upon graduation, Amrit moved to Toronto to be with her family and further pursue her passion for working with young children and guiding them to reach their full potential. Amrit truly believes that the best way to engage a child is to use the child’s curiosity and interests to help them succeed. Her ability to form strong relationships with her students is what has helped her identify and meet her their needs and develop their learning and success. Angela Erskine Cranston is an Ontario Certified Teacher, Child and Youth Practitioner, Fine Arts painter.

She grew up in Kingston, Jamaica. After finishing high school, Angela attended the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Preforming Arts where she completed a Diploma in Painting and Printmaking. She then attended the Mico University College where she completed a Diploma in teaching. Angela taught Visual Arts at the intermediate/senior division in Jamaica before moving to the Turks and Caicos Islands. While still in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Angela jumped at the opportunity when it came for her to teach in the primary/junior division. She taught grade 4 literacy for 4 years.

Through these experiences in and aboard, Angela developed a passion for teaching and working with special needs children. This propelled her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care at the Humber College, Toronto. After receiving her Bachelors, she decided to go one step further to completing her Master’s in Education with a specialization in special education at the Walden University, Minnesota.

Presently, Angela works for the School Board. She supports the improvement of students with special needs as well as students in the general education classroom. She believes in engaging and building strong healthy relationships with children, youth, and their family.

In Angela’s spare time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family. Angela also enjoys painting and exhibiting her artworks in galleries. She has shared in several young professional and young generation group exhibitions for Jamaican artists presenting works in Jamaica’s galleries. Angela’s most recent artworks is on display at the Beaux Art Gallery, Brampton.

Anna is in the midst of completing her fourth and final year in the Child and Youth Care Program at Ryerson University with a Minor in French. She is excited to have this opportunity to share her passion for the French language with students as it is a subject she has had a strong interest in from a young age. Anna was a student in the Extended French Program from grades 5 through 12 and participated in numerous French public speaking competitions. To date, Anna has completed two additional summer French Immersion Programs at the Université du Quebec a Chicoutimi and Cégep de Trois Rivières which focused on enriching French oral and written skills while simultaneously immersing oneself in the French culture.

Anna is extremely passionate in working with and alongside today’s young people, especially when in a position to be able to create a positive impact in their lives. She has gained experience working with youth one-on-one and in group settings through internship and volunteer positions within schools, as well as being a dance instructor.

Anna strongly believes that building a meaningful, strong and personal rapport with individuals plays a key role in their education as it assists in identifying individual needs and strengths. Anza completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a distinction, and Master of Teaching, both from the University of Toronto. She decided to go the international school route and moved to Saudi Arabia after graduating. There, she worked at an international school as a Learning Support Instructor during her first year of teaching and Kindergarten Teacher during her second year of teaching. Fun fact: Anza has lived in 4 different countries throughout her life, and the international school where she taught was actually her home school growing up! Anza is skilled at working collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds. She has conducted a graduate level research study on supporting student mental health and well-being as she strongly believes that social-emotional development is as important as academic learning. It all comes down to rapport and really putting in the effort to build a relationship with your students. Asha is a kind and passionate teacher who believes that every child brings their own brand of genius to the table. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and attended University of Windsor after for Teacher’s college. Ayesha is an enthusiastic second year Systems Design Engineering and Physics student at the University of Waterloo with 5+ years of experience in teaching math and physics to students from Grades 1-12 with various learning abilities. Azhar is a second-year Mechatronics engineering student at the University of Waterloo. He has extensive experience in tutoring students and a keen interest in mathematics and science. Azhar believes that patience and enthusiasm are extremely important in helping a student learn.

Brendan is an OCT certified teacher that has been teaching for 3 years and has teachables in French, health & kinesiology, and all elementary subjects k-8. Brendan is fluent in French and English, and is also well-educated on environmental design and behaviour change, which is well applied to developing study habits or organizational skills. He enjoys many sports and playing music, and understands that incorporating material that is relevant and related to students’ interests can have a big impact on their ability and willingness to learn. Camille is an Ontario Certified Teacher, qualified to teach at the primary, junior, and intermediate levels. She completed her teacher education in Jamaica, however, she has taught in Ontario for over 10 years. Camille is currently working with the Peel District School board. Her teaching/tutoring style is very student-centered, and she meets students where they are academically, and then works with them to achieve their highest potential. Camille thoroughly enjoys working with students to meet and overcome any challenges they may have in language, math, or French.

Hello There! My name is Carl and I am very excited to be a part of your child’s education! I am certified as a geography and history teacher but I am also very excited about helping students out with their Spanish, French, and even math!

After I graduated university I taught overseas in New Zealand for one and a half years before deciding to come back home to London Ontario. Upon my return I joined Thames Valley District School Board, where I continue to teach and work today.

Before teaching full time, I taught swimming lessons for 10 years, so I have a ton of experience teaching children of all ages. Swimming also gave me a deeper appreciation for the individuality of all learners.

When I’m not teaching I enjoy playing guitar, wrestling, and reading.

Carmel Youkhana completed her Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University in April 2022. Prior to this, she attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she enjoyed completing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. Throughout her teenage years, Carmel loved working at various summer camps and tutored English, which is where her passion for working with children began. As she continued to take on teaching roles during her university career, she realized her love for education and learning. For the past year and a half, Carmel has had the pleasure of teaching English to international students ages 3-12 through an online learning platform. She believes in fostering confidence in all her students and has a passion for making learning an enjoyable experience.

During her teaching practicum, Carmel taught students in the intermediate/senior division, specifically grade 8’s and all grades in high school. She has taught a variety of subjects in the classroom but has always had a knack for science/biology and English. Carmel’s job as an English teacher has given her the opportunity to work with a wide range of students in a one- on-one setting, developing her ability to build strong relationships and personalize lessons. Hi! My name is Caroline. I graduated last year from University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. I am currently working in the Peel District School Board as an In-School Support Teacher to help support students with special needs and ELL students. I am also supplying with the Halton District School Board. I believe in the importance of creating a safe and engaging environment where all students feel the confidence and safety to take risks throughout their learning journey. I enjoy getting to know my students and find that building a strong rapport is an important step in helping them reach their full potential. By getting to know my students it allows me to understand their individual needs and to find ways to plan activities and lessons to best support their learning style. During my free time, I enjoy reading, watching Netflix, and exploring new hiking trails around the GTA.

Christopher Patterson was raised in Mississauga and attended Public Schools from Kindergarten to Grade 13. Chris attended Trent university and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a joint major in History and Political Science. He moved on to Queen’s University for a Bachelor of Education with a Primary, Junior and Intermediate Certification. After graduation, Chris worked in the insurance industry and with a small tech company in Mississauga. Teaching positions were almost non-existent at that time. What followed, was a 26 year career as a classroom teacher at Burnhamhorpe Public School in the Peel District School Board. Chris taught Grades 3 to 6. He started and continued an intra-mural sports program and ran other school groups and events. Chris adored his students, and for most of them, he was their first male teacher. As his career progressed, Chris worked with a number of student teachers. He enjoyed the opportunity to help them succeed in their profession. Many of Chris’ students returned to visit. Two former students became staff members at Burnhamthorpe. Chris enjoyed supervising several week long trips with his Grade 6 students. Recently, he was honoured to be invited to the wedding of a former student.

Cody is a passionate teacher, dedicated to student success and development. He is a graduate of UofT and OISE, with a background is math, chemistry and physics. He is a versatile and experienced teacher, with over 8 years of teaching experience in different contexts, from swim instructor, to university TA and classroom teacher. My name is Daniel. I am qualified to teach Grades K – 12. My teachable subject areas include the Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Law. Darren is a Mississauga born Ontario Certified Teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and minors in both Computer Science and Environmental Biology. Darren has always harbored a love for science and math since he was a kid. He was always curious about learning the secrets of the universe and sharing that knowledge with others. Darren has volunteered with multiple science-based youth outreach programs (such as Pueblo Science and Let’s Talk Science), as well as spent time as an independent chemistry tutor. There he grew his passion for working with youth and fostering their own love of science. However, it wasn’t until he lived abroad for a year in South Korea, working at an English private school, where he discovered his passion and desire to teach as a career. After his experience in Korea, Darren completed his Bachelor of Education at York University in the Intermediate/Senior levels. With his years of experience working with youth, both abroad and at home, Darren believes that harnessing a student’s innate curiosity about the world is the key to both igniting their passion for science and to help them develop the confidence to understand complex material. In his spare time, Darren loves balancing the science side of his brain by pursuing the arts through acting and film, as well as exploring the power of play, through video games and Dungeons & Dragons.

Divistha completed her Undergraduate degree in Children Studies while concurrently completing her Education degree at York University. She has also received her Master of Education degree in 2016. She has been working with Peel District School Board from the past five years as a classroom teacher. Divistha’s experiences are very diverse and include both in class and community based involvement with diverse cultures and age levels.

Her extensive experience with a wide variety of learners including students with learning disabilities, and behavioral challenges have given her firsthand experience in providing individualized support while responding sensitively to the needs of the children. She has implemented Assistive Technology for Special Needs students and English Language Learners in developing their reading and writing skills with much success. As a life long learner, she welcomes opportunities to better herself as an educator by attending workshops and seminars. Being part of the 21st century learning environment, she is equipped with knowledge of different apps which can be beneficial for students in their academic journey. Emily is in her first year of the Teacher Education Program at Brock University. Her area of teaching is focused on Primary/Junior levels (K-6). Emily has a passion for reading, writing, and language. She is enthusiastic about teaching kids to learn to love reading and all areas of language.

Emma has a Bachelor of Arts from Western University, a Masters of Teaching from the University of Toronto, and a TEFL certification from International TEFL Academy. She has over eight years of paid and volunteer experience working with children in an academic context, including work with students with learning disabilities and English Language Learners. She currently lives with her husband, Tom, in the lovely city of Bonn, Germany.

Emma’s approach to teaching involves differentiated instruction, which considers the personality, interests, learning style and needs of each student. She takes the time to develop a positive relationship with the students she works with to foster a rich learning environment. Emma can help elementary students improve their literacy and math skills, but also their learning skills, such as organization and self-regulation. At the high school level, she can tutor students in all literacy related subjects, such as English, history or philosophy, and can provide support with novel studies, essay writing, reading comprehension, public speaking, and test/exam prep.

Emma enjoys spending her free time reading mystery, horror and science fiction novels and also political publications in the news and social media. You will often find her cooking up tasty meals or taking long walks through the streets of Bonn with her husband.

Fatema graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. In 2012 she completed her Bachelor of Education in the primary and junior divisions.
Fatema believes that working in small groups and one-on-one with students is highly effective in getting students to succeed which is why her passion is working with ESL students and students who need extra support in reading, writing and math. Fatema’s goal is to get her reading specialist qualification through the Ontario College of Teachers.
Fatema taught Grade 1 in England in 2013/2014. Since then, she has had numerous positions teaching ESL, gym and health and currently teaching Grade 3 online. She is looking forward to making some face to face connections with some new students!

Hello, My name is Heeba. I am in my final year of my Master of Teaching at OISE (University of Toronto) with a specialization in teaching K-6 students. I am excited to be an OCT certified teacher in two months. I have a Specialized Honours Bachelors in Linguistics and am a certified TESOL (teaching English as a second language) teacher. I have over 4 years of teaching experience, two years of these were spent abroad in South Korea, teaching full-time at a public middle school to students aged 13-16. I am self-driven and self-motivated, as teaching is a career I chose and stuck to due to my sincere love for extending my knowledge to my students. I believe my relationship with my students is mutual, as they make me learn and discover new things about myself everyday.

Jacobo Erazo is a 2nd-year Criminal Justice studies student at the University of Guelph-Humber. He has aspirations of one day being either a homicide detective or part of a police tactical unit. Jacobo has been studying and practicing French since the 5th grade.   At the age of 10, he reluctantly switched to the extended French program at a new school, this decision turned out to be one of the greatest things that ever happened to him. His first French teacher Madame Saulnier taught him not only how to speak, read and write but also taught him about the culture and infused fun activities within the curriculum to make learning fun and interesting which helped him to appreciate the importance of French and how useful of a skill it would be in the future to have. The switch also helped him make lifelong friends that he considers family. French was more than just a language, it was an opportunity, it helped him obtain jobs, make friends, travel, and culture himself. Jacobo hopes to pass on the knowledge, importance, and beauty of French that was instilled into him so that others may reap its rewards also.  Jacobo is also fluent in Spanish due to his Colombian background. In his free time, Jacobo likes to train Jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai, exercise, play soccer and hang out with friends.

Jennie is currently completing her final year in the Concurrent Education program at Brock University. Though she is studying to teach French as a Second Language and English in the Intermediate and Senior divisions (Grades 7-12), Jennie has plenty of experience working with younger grades through volunteer work, tutor positions and school practicums. Among these experiences include being an in-class tutor in a Francophone elementary school, as well as acting as the inaugural Program Coordinator for a bilingual school reading program that specializes in helping young students not only develop their reading and comprehension skills, but their love of learning as well. Jennie strives to find innovative ways to incorporate her students’ interests in her instruction as she strongly believes in creating a positive, encouraging environment for her students that promotes curiosity and life-long learning.

Jessica has a Master’s degree in French and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has been teaching for the last 12 years and she currently teaches French in a school in Mississauga. She previously taught in Dubai. Her expertise lies in languages.

Jocelyn is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce student at the University of Guelph with a passion for teaching children and helping them grow into the best versions of themselves. After completing her undergraduate degree, Jocelyn will be heading to Teacher’s College to pursue her career as an Elementary School Teacher. Jocelyn is an outgoing, personable, and studious individual who enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outside, going to the gym, traveling, and trying new food! Recently Jocelyn spent 4 months working as an Emergency Supply Teacher for the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board, where she covered and taught classes from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Since Jocelyn was situated at one school, she felt that she was able to learn and adapt to the different teaching needs and styles of the children and how to make them feel comfortable with her. Jocelyn was also an after-school tutor at the elementary school which gave her another opportunity to support the improvement of students’ math skills, reading, writing, and vocabulary. Jocelyn wishes to continue working with children as it brings her happiness to feel that she is making a difference in the children’s lives.

Joseph obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 2010. Within two months of graduation, Joseph found himself in Korea teaching ESL. After returning to Canada, he earned his Master of Teaching from the University of Toronto. He then spent the following 5 years living and working in international schools in Latin America. He eventually returned to Canada where he began teaching in the Peel District School Board. Throughout his teaching career, Joseph gained experience teaching all subjects (English, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Health) to all grades from 4-8. He also experienced a lot of success coaching Model UN and Ultimate Frisbee. Being TRIBES trained and holding the additional qualification for Special Education, Joseph believes in developing a close relationship with his students, tailoring lessons and teaching to the student’s specific learning needs, using their interests and innate curiosity to help them learn, and ensuring positive growth both academically and emotionally. As a tutor, Joseph takes pride in being able to partner and communicate with parents and the child’s school teachers to ensure the success of his tutees. Joshua, more commonly known as Josh, graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BSc specializing in Materials and Nanoscience for biological applications. He has experience working in a graduate level research lab which focused on creating artificial organs. He has received many merits for his mathematical achievements such as placing in the top 2% in the Sunlife Math Contest, consistently placing in the top 3 of his math classes, and passing the AP math exams granting him university math credits while in high school.

He’s very patient and has a deep sense of empathy which allows him to deeply understand the students’ struggles enabling him to build more personalized lesson plans for each student. He’s very determined to help people find the fun in the maths and sciences by helping them digest the material at their pace.

Juliana is delighted to work as a tutor, as she has always had a strong passion for teaching and leadership. Currently, she is in her fourth year in the Health Sciences program at McMaster University and is completing a minor in French.

Juliana began learning French at a very young age as a student in a francophone school. I am a Second-year Queen’s University student in the Concurrent Education program. Hello, I’ve been an educator for approximately 18 years and I honestly love what I do! I was born in Ottawa, Ontario and I have a 14 year old daughter who in grade 9. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in Science. I have taught in Ontario for 11 years and I also taught In Atlanta, Georgia for 7 years. Hi! I’m Michelle Li. This is my fourth year tutoring ESL (Level A-D). I grew up in China, but moved to Canada nine years ago to complete my Master of Education degree at Brock University. She also masters Maths and Sciences and Biology, her first field of studies. Molly  is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts. She double majored in English and History, and minored in Classical Studies. At the university, Molly participated in many leadership positions and dedicated much of her time to the universities Literal Change chapter, an organization that supplies literacy materials to incarcerated populations. Her studies ranged from Indigenous history and literature, medieval Europe, Japanese and Korean history, ancient literature, and modern literature. Name an era- she can provide you with an anthology of it’s most notable literary works. It’s a fun party trick.

Molly has been a tutor for nearly three years, specializing in middle and high school age ranges. Students have consistently not only benefited academically from sessions with her, but enjoyed them. Mustansir is a 4th year Mathematics student at the University of Waterloo. He grew up in Pakistan, and moved to Waterloo in 2019 to start his undergraduate degree. He speaks 2 languages; English and Urdu fluently. Throughout high school, Mustansir has had experience with teaching. He used to tutor his peers and juniors in Mathematics and sometimes Physics. During his time at university, Mustansir continued tutoring, although not in a professional capacity. He just wanted to help his friends and juniors with the courses they were having trouble with. He’s generous like that.

Mustansir is planning to graduate in May 2024 and wants to pursue a career in software development. He is enrolled in a co-op program and has completed 3 internships, the last of which gave him the opportunity to work in person in Tokyo, Japan for 4 months, during the Fall Term. And yes, this was an incredible amount of fun. Finally, his interests include go-karting, Formula 1, speed cubing, chess, volleyball, and table tennis.

Rabia Khan is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She is Canadian born and raised and has been living in Milton for over 12 years. She graduated with a Specialized Honours degree in English at York University in 2017. She most recently completed her Bachelors of Education from Brock University at the Junior/Intermediate level. Rabia has a passion for reading, and has read many books throughout the course of her life. She is a big fan of the Harry Potter and Twilight series, as well as Shakespeare, Sherlock Holmes, Edgar Allen Poe and other famous works of English literature. Her love for reading is what led her to pursue a degree in English. Rabia knew she wanted to become a teacher at a very young age. She is the eldest of 5 younger siblings and is also the oldest cousin on both sides of her family. Due to being the oldest child, Rabia naturally took on a leadership role and would enjoy “playing teacher” with them. This was one of the many reasons as to why she chose to go into teaching. Another reason why Rabia chose teaching as a career is because of her stepfather who is also a teacher. He has taught grades 6-8 math and science and has helped her with her studies growing up. In turn, she would enjoy helping him mark his students work back when she was in high school. It was since then that she decided to become a teacher. Rabia is very familiar with working with children of all ages as she has volunteered at the Goodlife Fitness daycare, Little Diva Spa Parties, and Home Depot Kids Workshops for over several years, conducting fun, interactive, and hands-on experiences. She has also taught at all grade levels during her placements at various schools throughout the Halton District School Board. In her spare time, Rabia enjoys reading fictional books, baking scrumptious desserts, cooking foods from all kinds of different cuisines, working out at the gym, fine dining, shopping, travelling, watching the latest and greatest tv shows/movies, playing video games, and spending some quality time with her friends and family. Sean graduated out of San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Preparation for Single Subject Teaching (English). He tutored English for years at the college level where he built up his teaching experience and learned different techniques to help students develop their own skills to become more self sufficient. Sean has helped students from a variety of backgrounds (such as native English, English as a second language, and bilingual) by taking the time to analyze the student’s needs and develop a lesson around them. Selma recently graduated from McGill University’s Bachelor of Education program where she specialized in high school English Language Arts and History. During her time living in Quebec, she taught and tutored in both English and French. Growing up with an Egyptian father and a German mother, she developed a passion for languages and learned to speak English, French, German, Arabic, and Spanish. Her interest in Spanish led her to teaching English as a Second language in Spain. Later, she traveled to Costa Rica as a Program Leader for groups of American teenagers on community service trips. These international experiences fuelled her interest in working with youth.

Teaching has been a lifelong dream for Selma, and she believes that there is nothing more rewarding than being able to help a student gain confidence or understand a concept. For her, tutoring is all about listening and responding to her students’ unique needs. Selma recently moved to Ontario, and she is looking forward to her next adventure in a new province! You’ll often catch her planning her next hiking trip, dancing, singing, or going on long runs.

Shannon is a caring dedicated teacher, who is motivated by the belief that all students can be successful learners.
She holds a Bachelor of Education through York university in the primary and junior divisions, as well as additional qualifications to teach all subjects of the intermediate division, Special Education and Physical Education.
Shannon is a proud teacher for the Peel District School Board, having taught Kindergarten through Grade 8, she currently teaches in the primary division, adapting her teaching methods and materials to meet her students’ varying needs and interest, focusing on development of critical literacy and numeracy skills. Shannon promotes mental, social, and physical development in her students and encourages them to be “their best self” through her support of classroom and school wide student involvement. When she is not teaching in the classroom, Shannon is helping students build their confidence and skills through her leadership of various teams, clubs and committees such as Chess Club, Basketball Team, Asian Heritage Committee, Recycling Club, and Lego Robotics Club to name a few.

Sheila has extensive experience and expert skills as a tutor, elementary school educator and administrator. She has had over 25 years of local and international teaching experience across three cities Toronto, Hong Kong, and Vancouver. Sheila has taught children of all ages from nursery level up to Grade Six. The students have ranged from a variety of backgrounds, (special needs, academic and ethnic). She has had substantial experience working with the International Baccalaureate and PYP program. Sheila spent has spent the past two years working as a Grade Five teacher at a private school in Toronto. During this time, she worked with students who had learning differences, implemented the Jump Math program as well as a variety of ‘current’ resources to ensure the success of her Grade Five students. She has enjoyed her teaching career thus far, working cooperatively and maintaining positive and meaningful bonds with parents, students and colleagues.

Aspiring CPA, Tejas is training for post-graduation in professional accounting at Humber College. If numbers scare you, then he can be your go-to person for help. Finance, accounting, and business management are his forte. He finds that too much information overwhelms students which hinders understanding some simple concepts. And some textbooks are very dry to understand something challenging. Tejas’ approach to tutoring is to clarify concepts with simplicity and real business case scenarios. Whether it’s an assignment or a homework problem question he can assist the student at their pace of learning. He was a peer-assisted learning volunteer in the second year of his under-graduation. It was then that he realized that he enjoys teaching his friends and students in college. Tejas is easy-going, and inquisitive to learn and solve problems. He also has some cool study tips and tricks that he would be happy to share, which helped him score high grades throughout his high school and university. Besides academia and work life Tejas is an animal and nature lover. He has an adorable pet dog. He is a yoga practitioner, dancer and a trained yoga teacher from India.

With work experience of 2 years at a young Kombucha startup prior to his master’s education. Tejas gathered hands-on learning in accounting and operations in the food and beverage industry. It was his financial acumen that drew him to the field of accounting and pursue CPA in Canada. He has a bachelor’s in business management with a specialization in Finance from Mumbai University. He got third rank in the batch with a CGPA of 9.61. For his secondary education, he went to a boarding school where he followed Cambridge University board curriculum (IGCSE) and was a part of the student council as a cultural head. He got 90% aggregate in his high school.

Venus graduated from the Concurrent Education program at Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate and Senior divisions. Venus is qualified to teach mathematics, science and biology.
Venus has a passion for teaching and promoting a growth mindset in her students. She wants to show students that learning is fun and that every mistake or misconception they encounter will help their brains grow!
Venus is excited to inspire this love of learning into her students and to help them reach their full potential.

Zoya is a third-year student in the Medical Science program at the University of Western Ontario and is planning on completing a minor in French. She has over 4 years of tutoring experience in high school and elementary level science and french and is very passionate about teaching. Zoya is enthusiastic and organized and believes that patience and understanding that each individual learns differently is the key to seeing students succeed. She is very excited to help students understand concepts better and make the learning process more enjoyable
